What does the Swiss Ski and Snowboard School Lenk offer?
The Swiss Ski and Snowboard School Lenk offers group and private lessons for children, teenagers, and adults. Whether you're a beginner or a pro: in private lessons you'll get a suitable, qualified instructor who tailors the lesson to your personal needs and goals and guides you on skis, snowboard, cross-country skis, telemark, or bobsled. In group lessons, our guests learn skiing, snowboarding, or cross-country skiing together with other people at the same level and progress together.
We are an official Swiss ski and snowboard school. What does that mean?
Lenk Sport und Events AG is a member of Swiss Snowsports, the umbrella association of Swiss snow sports schools and the training association for snow sports instructors. This membership entitles us to use the designation "official Swiss ski and snowboard school."
What this means for you as a guest:
In short: the "official Swiss ski and snowboard school" label stands for verified quality, uniform standards, and safety in snow sports instruction – nationwide.
- Federally certified training: Our snow sports instructors complete standardized, federally recognized training in accordance with Swiss Snowsports guidelines.
- Uniform teaching method: Instruction is based on the nationwide teaching method "Schneesport Schweiz" – proven, results-oriented, and suited to all levels and age groups.
- Local area and slope knowledge: Our instructors know the Adelboden-Lenk ski area, the slopes, and local conditions well and can correctly assess hazards and conditions on site.
- Ongoing professional development: All instructors regularly further their training through the association, so that teaching quality and safety standards stay up to date.
When does the season run?
We follow the opening hours of the Adelboden-Lenk mountain railways. The main area, Adelboden-Lenk, is open continuously from December 5, 2026, to April 4, 2027. The Betelberg is open continuously from December 19, 2026, to April 4, 2027. Most of the ski school's offerings are bookable continuously starting December 19.
How can I book an offer?
Our online shop is open every year starting in October. We're also happy to take bookings by phone at +41 (0)33 733 26 23, by email at skischule(at)lenksportundevents.ch, or in person – at the sales office at Rawilstrasse 4, 3775 Lenk im Simmental, or at the Infohaus Stoss.
I can't book an offer online. What can I do?
If you have problems or questions about online booking, you can reach us by phone at +41 (0)33 733 26 23 or by email at skischule(at)lenksportundevents.ch. The online shop may be closed shortly before a course starts due to high demand. Shortly before a course starts, we only accept bookings by phone or at the sales office in the village.
Where is the sales office in the village?
Rawilstrasse 4, 3775 Lenk im Simmental – directly opposite the Tourist Center Lenk.
Where is the Infohaus Stoss?
It's a small wooden cabin on the slope, right at the Stoss middle station of the Betelberg Lenk gondola toward Leiterli.
Where can I find a slope map?
Under this link (Adelboden Bergbahnen) you'll find the interactive map of the Adelboden-Lenk mountain railways, showing which lifts and slopes are currently open.
What discounts can I benefit from?
At the start of the season, you can benefit from an early-bird discount in the online shop. During the season, we also offer a consecutive-week discount, a special family discount, and an equipment-rental package. To take advantage of these discounts, please contact us directly by phone at +41 (0)33 733 26 23, by email at skischule(at)lenksportundevents.ch, or in person.
Can I rent ski or snowboard equipment from you?
We don't offer rental equipment ourselves. For rental equipment, we recommend our partner sports shop, Intersport Troxler, in Lenk. With passion and expertise, Intersport Troxler is your sports shop in the Obersimmental.

What does my child need to wear or bring for group lessons?
Make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Bring the complete ski or snowboard equipment and the lift ticket. Helmets are mandatory. We recommend having the equipment checked at a specialty sports shop beforehand and having the bases serviced regularly. From the Blue King/Queen level onward, children also need ski poles. Children receive water or syrup during lessons to quench their thirst. For a small snack, you can send your child with something light.
If I book a trial day, is my child guaranteed a spot for the rest of the week?
With a trial day, your child can try out the first day of the course and see if they like it. If we receive an extension request the same day, your child can join for the rest of the week. We only accept extensions in person, by phone, or by email. You can extend day by day or through the end of the week.
How can I correctly assess my child's level and choose the right group course?
In the course description of the "Swiss Snow League" classes, you'll find linked videos. These show what the class covers and can help you assess your child's level.
You can find detailed information on level classification here.
If you're unsure about the level, we recommend an additional private lesson on the weekend before the group course starts, or the Levelcheck on Sunday afternoon.
After your child has fully attended the course, their progress is entered into your customer portal and into the booklet. There you can view the upcoming courses and learning goals.
How are children in group lessons divided into classes?
After an initial level assignment at the time of booking, children are placed into classes on-site by our snow sports instructors.
The instructors make a great effort to place children into well-suited classes based on age, language, and information from accompanying persons. The class composition can still be adjusted by the instructors at the start of the week to make it a better fit.
Is there a group course for adults?
In skiing, we offer group lessons for adults from age 16 at the Beginner, Advanced, and Expert levels. The course starts on Monday, runs with a minimum of three registrations per level, and lasts until Wednesday. In snowboarding, we integrate adults into the youth classes. In cross-country skiing, we recommend the trial course in the weekly program: classic cross-country on Tuesday and skate cross-country on Thursday.
Do I need to book a course in advance, or is a short-notice registration enough?
Our group courses fill up quickly, especially during peak season. To benefit from the early-bird discount, we recommend booking your course in the online shop before the season. Short-notice bookings for a group course are possible, but there's a risk that the desired offer is already fully booked.
How is my child looked after during the course?
We meet your child at the meeting point and look after them until the end of the course. During this time, you can take a break – with your own runs on the slope, a coffee on a terrace, or a winter walk in the mountains. Please provide the correct emergency number when booking and be reachable for emergencies during the course. At the end of the course, you can pick up your child at the meeting point. The instructors only leave the meeting point once all children have been handed over to their accompanying persons.
Does my child need a ski ticket?
Yes, all children need a lift ticket. Check with Bergbahnen Adelboden-Lenk (Online Shop) to find out which ticket suits best. Children under 6 ride free of charge on the Adelboden-Lenk mountain railways when accompanied by an adult and receive the Snowli card as a free ticket at the ticket office. Any ticket – including the Snowli card – can be loaded onto a Keycard for a deposit of CHF 5.00, so your child can pass through the turnstile independently.
What language is instruction given in?
In group lessons, the standard language is German. If your child speaks a different language, our instructors try to place them in the class that fits best. We can't guarantee a specific foreign language in group lessons, but we do our best to make sure your child feels comfortable.
Can I book private lessons in the morning?
During the week, most of our instructors are typically busy with group courses in the morning. With early notice and for bookings of three or more consecutive days, we accept requests for morning private lessons in person. In the off-season or when there's enough availability, we also offer morning private lessons on short notice. Contact us by phone at +41 (0)33 733 26 23.
Can I book private lessons together with children as an adult?
Adults and children learn in different ways. Our experience shows that mixed private lessons usually aren't a good idea, unless you'd like to learn tips and tricks for interacting with children. If in doubt, we're happy to advise you by phone at +41 (0)33 733 26 23.
Can I book private lessons for people with different skill levels?
Our instructors meet you at your personal skill level and support you on your individual learning path, taking each participant's needs into account. However, if participants' levels differ significantly, we recommend separate bookings. For bookings with mixed levels, the program is generally based on the ability of the less experienced person. If in doubt, we're happy to advise you by phone at +41 (0)33 733 26 23.
Does the course take place in any weather?
Varying weather conditions are part of snow sports. Our courses take place as long as the ski area is open and are adapted to the respective weather and slope conditions. Bad weather is not grounds for a refund. If offers can't take place due to extraordinary, uncontrollable circumstances (avalanche danger, storms, etc.), we offer an alternative program.
For information on refunds, please see the cancellation terms in our Terms and Conditions.
I or my child is sick or had an accident. What can I do?
Group course: Notify us as early as possible. For group courses, we make every effort to ensure your child can start or continue the course despite a brief illness. Our cancellation terms apply. We recommend travel insurance that covers costs in the event of illness or accident.
Private lessons: Notify us as early as possible. Private lessons can be rescheduled if you notify us up to 24 hours before the course starts, subject to availability. If rescheduling isn't possible, our cancellation terms apply. We recommend travel insurance that covers costs in the event of illness or accident.
